This coverage should not be purchased for vehicles used for any commercial purposes, such as:
Using this policy for vehicles employed for commercial purposes may limit our ability to assist or incur additional charges. For commercial use, consider our Business Breakdown Cover.
This coverage provides emergency help for unexpected mechanical or electrical issues that prevent the vehicle from being driven safely or continuing the journey.
It does not cover non-emergency, cosmetic, self-inflicted faults, or suspected third-party damage. This policy is not a substitute for routine servicing, maintenance, repairs, or faults caused by the driver.
In cases where the vehicle has not been properly serviced or maintained, our assistance may be limited or incur additional charges.
Assistance is provided only for vehicles that are roadworthy and comply with legal standards. It does not cover unsafe, unroadworthy, unlawful, overloaded, or improperly used vehicles.
Throughout the policy term, ensure vehicles are serviced annually (or as per manufacturer recommendations), maintained according to guidelines, and are in good condition and safe for road use. Vehicles must also be taxed, insured, and have a valid MOT certificate.
If the vehicle does not meet these conditions, we will be unable to provide assistance.
Assistance will not be provided for the same fault within 28 days unless a permanent repair has been completed by a garage. Arrange for a permanent repair following any temporary repair done by us.
Coverage will not extend to any pre-existing faults known before purchasing the policy. Attempting to use the policy for known faults or temporary repairs may result in limited assistance or additional charges.
The policy covers vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes (3,500kg) in weight and 2.55 meters (8 feet 3 inches) wide.
Do not use the breakdown cover for vehicles exceeding these dimensions. Assistance is also not available for vehicles that have been vandalized or subjected to malicious damage, as these are typically covered by motor insurance.
For vehicle-based policies, the registered vehicle is covered for all drivers. If you change your vehicle, update us promptly.
Personal-based policies cover the vehicle only if the member is present as a driver or passenger during the breakdown. Assistance cannot be provided if drivers or passengers are abusive or uncooperative.
